Pacific Magazines has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Content Manager to join their team on a 12 month fixed term maternity leave contract.

Based in Eveleigh and reporting to the Digital Content Director, you will mentor and oversee a team of Digital Content Editors in their daily tasks of conception, production and execution of audio, visual, interactive and editorial content for the Pacific Magazines websites and social media presences as well as other relevant digital platforms in order to attract, entertain and retain the brands’ audience.

You will be working across brands including marie claire, InStyle and StyledBy marie claire, so previous experience in the fashion and beauty category is an advantage.

As Digital Content Manager, you will:

  • Generate innovative ideas that will attract new audiences by producing unique and compelling content through various multimedia channels including but not limited to digital, social media, and smartphone and tablet apps;
  • Content Creation and Production:

    • Scope, create and produce entertainment and news content that can be used to attract, engage and retain Pacific Magazines digital audiences on all platforms (web, apps and social).
    • Seek out and research breaking and trending stories across social media
  • Reinforce social media best practices across relevant departments whilst ensuring industry leading levels of engagement;
  • Support editorial and marketing teams with ideation and implementation across individual brands and in line with their branding and promotional strategies;
  • Work closely with said teams to proactively create content opportunities even beyond print requirements and closely integrate online/social content with print editorial content
  • Support the Digital Content Director with allocation of projects and staff management during annual leave, special occasion events, etc.;
  • Work closely with the Digital Content Director in setting up audience target KPIs for each quarter of the financial year and ensuring their follow up with each Digital Content Producer;
  • Analysis and understanding of audience based research tools such as but not limited to, Google Analytics, Nielsen Market Intelligence, to:

    • Closely monitor & benchmark content performance
    • Assist with the development of content that is relevant to the brands’ audiences
  • Demonstrate creative leadership with the production of the digital content in accordance with Pacific Magazines brands’ respective style guide;
  • Provide sound judgement on content and editorial policy issues;

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in producing content for either print, radio, television or online;
  • Creative background with experience in developing original ideas into original content for digital audiences;
  • Advanced knowledge of best practice cross-media production techniques including digital usability principles and deliver content to correct specifications;
  • Ability to produce, write, edit and preferably post produce audio visual content for multimedia channels;
  • Experience in web publishing including using Photoshop and HTML is desirable  
  • Understanding of all web based tools and experience using content management systems; 
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced, start-up environment juggling multiple projects;
  • Great time management skills & must be able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, research and writing skills.
