The Position

Seven West Media is looking for a highly motivated Business Development Executive to join our Features team in our Advertising department.

Based in our Osborne Park office and reporting to the Manager of Features, this role is predominately focused on achieving revenue targets by developing new opportunities to grow business revenue and maintain current business revenue through interaction with existing clients and actively seeking new business within a specified market.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring comprehensive knowledge of SWM WA platforms and products and ensuring a cross functional sales approach is adopted in selling our products and platforms
  • Project Managing publications utilising internal and external relationships
  • Seeking an in-depth understanding of the client’s needs in order to research, analyse and translate sales and product data into targeted sales strategies that are suited to the client’s needs
  • Researching and undertaking analysis of the industry you are selling to and the position that SWM WA has within the market to ensure that sales strategies will be relevant
  • Producing high quality sales proposals and strategies and be able to present them effectively, confidently and professionally to clients
  • Creating and maintaining trusted and professional business relationships
  • Providing after sales services as requested by the client
  • Ensuring that the expectations of the clients are met to a high satisfaction
  • Completing all sales documentation ensuring all information is complete and accurate and done so within a timely manner
  • Ensure all activities are reported using the CRM application

Skills & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in a sales role, including over 2 years of experience within a competitive sales environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and applications and Sales CRM’s
  • Able to interpret client needs and produce a proposal to convert into sale
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and active listening skills
  • Have a positive attitude, be highly motivated with the ability to handle rejection well
  • Be outcomes focused with the drive to achieve the desired revenue outcomes
  • Experience selling within the education sector would be advantageous
