The Role: 

We are looking to recruit an Advertising Manager to lead our Kalgoorlie team in a full-time permanent position.  The Kalgoorlie Miner is +125 years old and is the only daily regional paper in the state.  It’s a great opportunity to lead a team of talented people for one of WA’s most iconic regional brands.

Key Responsibilities are:

  • Managing the local Kalgoorlie sales team.
  • Lead the pursuit of Advertising revenue across Print & Digital
  • Contribute to the development of financial plans for Advertising. 
  • Deliver on approved financial targets and budgets
  • Deliver sound commercial outcomes
  • Adhere to approved delegation of authority for this position.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Editorial, IT, Marketing, Production and Circulation) to increase opportunities and maximise revenue.
  • Analyse the market to identify new potential clients and opportunities.
  • As required – perform the duties of an Advertising Executive to maintain relationships in the market
  • Contribute with a management style that promotes a harmonious working environment, ensuring personnel are valued, rewarded and are generally happy

About You: 

  • Demonstrated ability to build sustainable relationships across all levels of the organisation with a consultative approach.
  • Proven self-starter and ability to drive and motivate a team to achieve.
  • Projects an air of confidence and a strong drive to succeed
  • Demonstrated resilience and is optimistic
  • Ability to adapt to dramatic & continued changes in the workplace and industry
  • A qualification in Business or sales experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales leadership role or considerable sales experience
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management
  • Strong knowledge of Print & Digital Advertising
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional leadership and organisational skills
  • Outcomes focused with drive to achieve the desired revenue outcomes  
  • Excellent people manager & coach
