The Opportunity
As the Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing the broadcast regional and metro sales revenue from their designated portfolio of Agencies / Clients.
This role oversees broadcast Sales Executives and Coordinators looking after both Metro and Regional campaigns directly but works closely with the Digital GSM and Connections Planner across their portfolio to drive cross screen convergent outcomes. You will also work closely with the broader sales teams to develop a high-performance team focused on delivering to State and Network targets.
Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Group Business Director. Your day to day will include:
- Negotiating and managing national broadcast deals to meet revenue and share targets, maintaining a clear deal book aligned with or above network trading requirements.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with local Investment Directors and Group Trading Leads within your designated agencies.
- Delivering exceptional client service through innovative thinking, effective use of Seven Network’s assets, and skillful salesmanship while staying informed on market trends and conditions.
- Developing clear Business Plans with the Group Business Director for future client growth and retention strategies, ensuring alignment with Investment teams in Agencies.
- Collaborating with and coaching Sales team members to enhance their knowledge and skills, focusing on driving trading excellence whilst working closely with various departments, including Revenue Management, Digital, Product, Programming, Production, Central Sales, Partnerships, and Marketing, to ensure top-notch service and delivery.
- Providing management with accurate, timely reports and forecasts.
About You
You are an exceptional leader with a solid sales background, an effective communicator and have a strong sense of accountability. You also ideally have:
- Significant Agency (Trading) or TV/Digital Sales experience and/or strong sales background and a thorough understanding of broadcast media trading principles.
- Team leadership – experience leading and nurturing a cohesive Sales team, fostering collaboration and excellence.
- Interpersonal Skills – ability to leverage strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships.
- Track record of making a significant impact and influence within your previous organisation and/or in the industry.
