Become a key member of our Payroll team! You will assist in ensuring seamless operation of the payroll processes with a strong focus on delivering timely and accurate payroll payments for entities within the West Australian Newspaper Group. This role is a 12-month fixed term contract.

 

About the Role:

  • Perform end to end payroll processing of approx. 800 employees on weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay runs
  • Review and approve the weekly, fortnightly, monthly pay runs
  • Resolve complex payroll queries in a professional manner
  • Produce month end reports and deduction vouchers
  • Preparation and lodgement of monthly Payroll Tax returns for various states
  • Preparation and lodgement of monthly Superannuation payments via clearing house
  • Maintaining the integrity of Payroll database
  • Payroll related General Ledger Reconciliations
  • Ensure all other payroll matters are addressed in a timely manner
  • Comply with all State and Federal legislation in relation to payroll payments
  • Comply with Enterprise Agreement and Award Interpretations

 

About You:

  • Proven payroll experience with a minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting Enterprise Agreements, Modern Award and other State and Industry legislation
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in Payroll Tax, Superannuation and other general month end functions/reporting
  • Experience in Preceda would be highly regarded
  • Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels within the organisation, including external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a demanding role
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
