The Opportunity:

As a Broadcast Technician at Seven, you will be providing support to our News and Production Operations by resolving technical issues in a timely manner.

This position involves 24/7 shift work on a rotating roster to support Seven’s operational needs. However, there will also be on-call support required (where rostered) to maintain technical continuity of studio operations and transmission.

Based in Canberra, and reporting to the Head of Transmission for Broadcast, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Fault-find issues identified with the broadcast plant and associated workflows used by News and Production in Canberra and our regional offices.
  • Escalate issues when they are unable to be dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance activities, including software patching.
  • Install broadcast equipment or change configurations according to line drawings and project plans.

About You:

You will be an experienced Broadcast Technician/ Engineer with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to strong collaboration and teamworking abilities. You are an innovative, tech-savvy and detail-orientated individual with a high-level of proactiveness, someone that is flexible and adaptable in nature, who enjoys problem-solving and has the ability to work well within fast-paced environments.

You will have:

  • Experience in support and fault finding of broadcast equipment.
  • Demonstrable logic problem-solving of broadcast or IT products/ applications.
  • Understand technology products used in production and their application to news and media content.
  • Experience communicating effectively with technical and non-technical customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex scenarios affecting the production of content.
  • Desire to support content production for broadcast (both free-to-air & streaming).
