7plus is Australia’s leading broadcast digital video streaming service, home to some of Australia’s favourite shows and sporting events including Home and Away, Big Brother, the AFL and Cricket! And guess what? We're skyrocketing as the go-to video-on-demand platform across the nation!
A new and exciting opportunity has opened for a Mobile Engineer to join the Seven Product Solutions team - a team of innovators, creatives and problem-solvers that successfully delivered the largest streaming event in Australian history across 7plus for the FIFA Women's World Cup, with over a million peak concurrent streams. We are looking for like-minded people who want to join the ride as we pave the way for homegrown Australian digital entertainment.

This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne, and Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:
- Modern Development: Get ready to dive into designing, developing, and testing groundbreaking solutions for our iOS and Apple TV platforms. Your creativity knows no bounds here!
- Team Collaboration: Join forces with a dynamic Agile Scrum team of passionate individuals, where every sprint goal achieved is a shared victory. Collaboration is key, and your input matters.
- Feedback and Growth: Be part of a culture of continuous improvement by providing constructive feedback during peer reviews. Your insights will shape our collective success.
- Scalable Pipelines: Take charge of maintaining and enhancing our app's CI/CD pipelines and automations, ensuring seamless delivery of updates and improvements to our users.
- Technical Excellence: Challenge the status quo by constantly improving standards, procedures, and technologies. Your recommendations will drive us towards excellence.
- User Centricity: Work closely with business stakeholders, Product, and your Scrum team to brainstorm and implement the best solutions for our valued 7plus users.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Apply your expertise in development techniques and practices to tackle challenges within time, scope, requirements, and budget constraints. Your problem-solving skills will be put to the test—and celebrated.
You are someone who has:
- Minimum 3 years of mobile development experience.
- Proficiency in native iOS/Swift development.
- Strong API integration skills.
- Familiarity with object-oriented/application design principles for clean, reusable code.
- Understanding of Apple ecosystem, including build and release processes.
- Experience in various software testing methodologies, from unit to UI tests.
- Knowledge of build tools and appreciation for DevOps culture.
- Ability to craft pixel-perfect interfaces adhering to design specifications and UX principles.
- Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Interest in personal and team improvement, staying updated with the latest technologies and trends.
Desirable Skills but not essential:
- Experience with Android ecosystem/Kotlin.
- Background in cross-functional Agile teams.
- Previous exposure to media player/industry/video projects.
- Familiarity with Objective-C.
- Bonus points for expertise in technologies like UIKit, SwiftUI, RxSwift, Combine, Firebase, Azure DevOps.
