We are looking for a Journalist in Rockhampton who has a hunger for news gathering and a desire to break stories.
Reporting to the Supervising Producer, you will be responsible for gathering, editing and presenting information in a composed, accurate and engaging manner.
This role requires roster flexibility, and a willingness to work extra hours when the news day demands.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with key people and organisations;
- Breaking stories and creating engaging content;
- Representing the Company in a professional and courteous manner.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A solid understanding of media law and ethics.
- The ability to think clearly and act quickly under pressure.
- An energetic, self-starter attitude
- Proven editorial skills
- A proven ability to liaise and communicate with all levels as well as the confidence to do so under pressure.
- A sense of urgency and focus on tight deadlines
- Competency in Script writing in TV News format
- Meticulous attention to detail with some experience in a newsroom
