7NEWS.com.au is seeking a National Social Media Lead to drive the national social media strategy for 7NEWS, Sunrise and The Morning Show, serving more than 20 million combined followers on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube across Australia.
You will:
- Manage a team of full-time and casual social media producers in metropolitan and regional markets to maintain seven-day coverage
- Advise digital leadership on audience growth and revenue opportunities, and monitor performance to generate insights
- Oversee the distribution of digital content to all social platforms, tailoring posts and assets to suit specific audiences
- Be prepared to experiment with emerging platforms and challenge the status quo
- Build relationships with reporters, producers and editors to facilitate on-brand vertical video opportunities that add context and authority to broadcast packages i.e. the story behind the story
- Demonstrate a keen understanding of news and current affairs, and how they can be communicated and shared
- Own direct relationships with platform partners to fulfil SWM obligations
We are seeking someone with:
- Demonstrated experience managing a team, preferably at national level
- Vast knowledge of, and experience in, content distribution on social platforms
- Understanding of media law and journalistic ethics
- An ability to work effectively under pressure
