A rare vacancy has arisen for a full-time sub-editor to edit both online and print stories for The West Australian, The Sunday Times and our 19 regional newspapers around Western Australia.
Based in our Perth office, our team of sub-editors work on a wide variety of stories and topics throughout the day, including business, travel, sport, motoring, as well as the news that makes every corner of our State tick.
About the role
- Edit news reports, sport reports and features articles in both online and print
- Write accurate headlines, sub-headings and captions
- Check for factual and legal errors
- Help our team hit multiple deadlines daily
- Work with reporters to finesse their copy
About You
- Versatile and diligent with a strong news sense
- Excellent command of English
- An eagle eye for detail
- Ability to write punchy, accurate headlines
- Strong track record in journalism
