The Opportunity
Seven Network is seeking an experienced Employment Legal Counsel to manage a broad range of employment law and industrial relations matters. This is a senior individual contributor role, reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, and will work closely with internal stakeholders across the business.
The role is responsible for providing expert legal advice and support across all aspects of employment law, including advisory work, disputes, litigation, investigations, policy development, and enterprise bargaining.
Key Responsibilities

Provide legal advice on employment-related matters, including contracts, compliance, performance management, disciplinary action, and terminations.

Manage complex employee relations issues and lead internal workplace investigations.

Represent the company in employment-related disputes, including conciliations and proceedings before the Fair Work Commission and other relevant tribunals.

Advise on industrial relations strategy, including enterprise bargaining, union engagement, and compliance with relevant workplace instruments.

Review and develop internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice.

Manage relationships with external legal providers on employment and industrial matters.

Deliver training and legal updates to internal stakeholders on changes in employment law and emerging risks.
About You
You are a technically strong employment lawyer who is comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on. You bring sound judgement, discretion, and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset to complex legal issues.
You will have

Law degree (LLB) and admission to practice in Australia.

Minimum 4–6 years’ post-admission experience in employment and industrial relations law.

Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act, modern awards, enterprise agreements, and case law developments.

A proven ability to handle complex disputes and deliver commercially sound legal advice.

Deep knowledge of Australian employment law and regulations.

Exceptional judgement, discretion, and communication skills, with a knack for juggling priorities under pressure.
