The Opportunity
We’re looking for a driven Social Media Coordinator to join our 7NEWS team on the Sunshine Coast and help shape the future of regional storytelling across Australia’s leading news network.
You’ll be based in our Maroochydore and will work closely with local newsrooms, the Digital Engagement Manager (Brisbane), the Regional QLD News Director and the National Social Media Lead to produce and manage engaging content that supports the regional Queensland news agenda.
What you'll do:
- Drive content publishing across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube, in collaboration with key newsroom and social media leaders.
- Create tailored, social-first content with newsroom teams.
- Manage and moderate social media commentary, audience engagement, and track and report on how posts perform.
- Craft engaging written and visual content, schedule posts, and follow editorial guidelines and standards.
- Support staff onboarding and assist with ad-hoc duties.
What you'll bring:
You’re a creative, organised, and digitally savvy individual who thrives in a fast-paced, environment. You’ll also bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related subject
- 1–2 years’ experience in social media content creation
- A strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for content, news & current affairs
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- A confident communicator with a collaborative mindset, and a drive to deliver high-quality work
- Familiarity with editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Quantel, or Viz Story (preferred but not essential)
