Join Seven Network as our new Trainee Video Editor! 

 

The Opportunity:

A new and exciting opportunity has opened for a full-time Trainee Video Editor to join the Seven Creative team on a two-year traineeship.

This is a non-creative role to assist with editing, versioning, and mastering on-air promos, ensuring the technical quality of promos are ready for broadcast. The successful candidate will work closely with leading Creative Producers and Designers in the Seven Creative Team to achieve the required delivery objectives.

Based at our head office in Eveleigh, Sydney and reporting to the Operations Manager you’ll be responsible for:

  • Quickly and accurately editing on-air promos to the required specifications, including placement of time supers, classifications, and audio.
  • Creating different versions of promos, changing the relevant time and date details according to when the promo will be aired.
  • Ensuring any abnormalities or grading issues on the promo are corrected and the technical quality of the promo is ready for broadcast.
  • Using tailored applications with an opportunity to receive an introduction to back-end support for these applications.

Please note, this role is a full-time role, covering an 8am – 8:30pm rotating roster between Monday to Friday.

 

About You:

This role would suit a tech-savyy individual at the early stages of a video editing career with an interest in broadcast television. You’ll have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, a passion for innovation and will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will also have a proactive and team-oriented spirit, combined with an optimistic mindset.

You will have:

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar video editing position
  • Tertiary qualification related to the field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Avid Media Composer (preferred)
  • A solid foundation of computer-savvy skills, demonstrating exceptional proficiency in digital technology.
    Experience with Avid Media Composer (preferred)
  • An enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and adapt to new software and hardware.
  • A team player who is eager to learn and grow in their career.
  • Experience or interest in coding
  • This role is a full-time role, covering an 8 am – 8:30 pm rotating roster from Monday to Friday. There is no work from home available for this role.
